Beat the heat with something sweet!

Ahh, Japan is frying itself on the surface of the sun and what do I do? I rade second hand shops and clearance sales for A/W clothing! Even though I'm into fashion I can't really say I give a penny for wether or not I'm wearing this years or that years collection, so If I really like a garment and it's dirt cheap because it's no longer "trending", well good for me! (and my wallet).

Soo, these are my recent gets

First up two second hand coats by EMODA

I really wanted to buy these boots from LIP SERVICE last winter, but I never got around to and they sold out. Then a few days ago I just happened to stumble upon a random site that still sels them for a great clearance price :D Also when I got the boots I found the shop had packed a little present for free, a cute flowery make up box^^

During the weekend I just aimlessly wandered around the neighborhood and came across a 100円 shop where I found these adorable chopsticks, OWLS <3

Last but not least, I had run out of most of my The BODY SHOP products so yesterday I went on a quest to get new ones and came across this heavenly smelling raspberry body lotion.

Good things comes to those who wait, and apparently I like waiting (for cheap stuff lol).

Internship ranting and some OOTDs

I'm falling way behind on this blog, but I really don't have time to update much as of recently. School takes all my time and pretty much kills any inspiration I might have had about blogging -_-

Anyhow in about 6 weeks I'm heading out for a 3 month long internship, I still don't know where I'm gonna end up though, I'm sure it will be interesting, and probably pretty horrible according to any person who have ever done an internship at a Japanese hotel. What I'm most worried about is that I'm gonna flip a table and loose my temper, because the way interns are treated in Japan would probably not be legal in Sweden... And since I'm white and a WOMAN (omygosh!) I've been told I'm gonna have an even tougher time. Well they've probably never run into a Swedish viking girl before. To be honest I'm not really sure if I have the right kind of personality for the hotel world (at least the Japanese one), I do NOT take lightly on rasism and sexism, and as harsh as it sounds I'd rather quit than having to bow my head while having to take crap like that.

To get myself out of some negative thinking I've been going through my beloved closet, realizing I have a lot of clothes, sadly pretty much every morning I stand infront of the darn closet thinking, "I have nothing to wear". I realized it was mostly because I have a hard time coming up with what would actually go nicely with what, seeing as my closet is always a mess no matter how hard I try to organize it... So I came up with the idea of making outfits and taking pictures! That way I can look at those pictures for inspo when I feel like I have nothing to wear.

Skirt CECIL McBEE,  T-shirt Hyphen world gallery

Shoes EGOIST

Shorts Forever 21

Hat Fig&Viper T-shirt Cecil McBEE Shorts H&M

Necklace EGOIST T-shirt Lip Service Pants OZOC

Sunglasses MA*RS
I'm gonna try and post some outfits every other second week or so, that way I might get some posting motivation back and I get to play around with my beloved clothes and accessories <3

And I can't believe I missed Coldplay when they for once came to Tokyo ;___; They played in a ridiculously small hall and the tickets went out through a lottery, luck was not on my side. Hoping they'll come back soon to play at a big arena, if it's at festival I'm gonna drag myself half over Japan if I have to!

Well I'm off to kick som kanji butt, take care ya all~

Language school, sayonara

So yesterday I finally graduated from my japanese language school after 2 years of studying. Can't believe it's been 2 years already! Especially the first year went really fast, probably because it was easy and a lot of fun, guess life in general was easier and more carefree that first year. Second year was tough, really tuff, but it had it's moments as well. I've met so many nice people along the way, some who are remaining in Japan and some who've gone back home. I think that has been the toughest thing about being an exchange student, you make really good friends, only to be separated shortly after. All in all I most certainly do not regret coming to Tokyo and spending these 2 years here.

Since it's 3 weeks left until the entrance ceremony of my college I'm taking the opportunity to spend 2 weeks in Sweden, visiting friends and just trying to relax as much as I can, charge my batteries so to say. I would've loved for my bf to come to Sweden with me, but as he's a typical japanese salary man taking some days of was of course impossible. Hopefully we can go somewhere together during golden week, once again it's not a whole week off, but at least we'll get 4 days in a row.

Also I've packed away my winter clothes as it seems the weather in Tokyo is now staying stable above +12C, nowadays it's usually around +15, lovely~

Right now I'm in the middle of packing for my trip to Sweden, seems it's gonna be cold so I guess I'll have to pack a mix of clothes. Also my roomy have gotten herself some company in the form of a cat (it used to live with her mom before) so if kitty is not too scared of me I'll have a little snuggle buddy^^ Starting to get a bit hyped up now!

Well I'll probably be writing again once I get back to Tokyo, bye for now~

Crazy new years sale in Tokyo!

And so I'm back from my one week trip to Fukuoka and Tsuyama! It had a great time and as soon as I manage to organize the pictures me and my bf took I'm gonna write more about it, so look forward to some beautiful photos ^^

Anyhow since new years just passed it means one big thing for the shopaholics in Japan, the crazy new years sale! And it really is crazy, with the yen being as cheap as it is you can buy loads of stuff without it burning holes in your wallet. Just as last year I headed into the shopping spree together with my partner in crime Johanna. This year I skipped the fukubukuro's (the lucky bags you can buy at stores that cost around 1万(600kr) but contains random clothes for about 4 times that money. I'd rather buy stuff I really want and this year I wasn't that interested in clothes anyhow. I already had some things in mind that I needed so I went on a hunt for that instead, and this is what I got away with, all from 109~

My old sunglasses had gotten a lot of scratches on them so I got these ones from MA*RS

I have two dresses that's a bit too "revealing" for my tastes so I bought this (actually the shirt version of this dress, couldn't find pic) to have under, and it still looks great!

I'm not really a fan of  F&V's clothes and accessories and to be honest I never thought I wold own a hat like this model, but after trying it on it actually looked really good when I have my hair loose and ruffled, it will go great with some outfits.

Yay a new makeup bag from MA*RS , outgrew my old one ages ago but I've just been to lazy to buy a new one...

Also got two pairs of spring/summer shoes that I guessed no one wanted anymore, I really don't mind if it's still in fashion or not, it goes well with my clothes and were super comfy, that's enough for me.

A while ago I came across a new years time sale while browsing Rakuten and got stuff for so dirt cheap it's almost crazy, can't wait to get it next week!

Now I can start pretending that I look forward to school starting again on wednesday, wihooo...

Until later~

Lancome Doll Eyes mascara and KENT AIRHEDZ brush review

Sooo, a really long time ago I said I would do a review on the Doll Eyes mascara that I had bought, and now I finally came around to do so.

To begin with, I must say that this is a very defining mascara, it doesn't thicken your lashes much but it is good at giving them length and separating them, kind of helping in creating that dolly look. It might thicken up if you ad many layers, but to be honest even though I have a really good make up remover it's kind of hell trying to wash only one layer of mascara off completely. I feel that if I add more I will end up with no lashes at all in the end -_- I'd say if you want thicker lashes to doll it up even more, add some false lashes or another thickening mascara that washes off easier.
However I really do like it, it stays on all day, doesn't smudge much around the eyes (which is often a big problem for me when it comes to mascaras). And it looks awesome on my bottom lashes, almost like falsies. I'd say the negative could be the lashes sometimes comes off as looking a bit "stiff"? If I compare to some Max Factor mascaras I've used in the past I said the gave a "softer" look.

On a scale from 1-10 I'd say I give this a 7. And here a couple of pictures of how it looks while applied (only one layer).

Today I also received my long awaited KENT AIRHEADZ maxi detangling brush. I can not describe how happy I am to finally have a nice brush again, I really liked my old one so I've holden on to it for far too long, making it really uncomfortable to use in the end.
This new brush was described to be perfectly fit for people with long, messy thick hair, which describes my hair to 100%, especially when it's newly washed. The brush looks like this:

The spikes are really far apart and very rounded and soft so it does indeed feels very nice when you brush your hair with this. Even though I've only tried it on dry hair so far I must say it does what it promises and glides through the hair effortlessly, not tugging at the hair at all. Also the grip is very nice so it lies nicely in your hand.
Since I haven't tried it on wet hair yet I'll give it 9 of 10, but I'm pretty sure it will do a great job.

Now I'll soon be off internet for a week since I'm traveling to Kyûshu and Okayama tomorrow, it's gonna be so much fun! And of course I'll take lots of pictures to post later^^.

Until next time, take care~

Classes have ended, time for a happy post!

Whoa, finished last "final test" for the semester today. I have a pretty strong feeling I will have to retake this class though due to extreme lack of motivation -__- But at least now I have tried my best at the tests so I'll find out tomorrow. And tomorrow night we are having kind of a class gathering since some people won't come back for next semester, even though we ended up just being 5 people plus our teacher lol. To say it feels a bit weird to go out drinking with your teacher is an understatement, but I think it will be fun.
BUT, I still have one test left, the japanese test for the technical college on saturday, have no idea how that will turn out but I will do my best!

In the last post I wrote that I was gonna post some of my "recent" gets, and so I will. I just say God bless the wonderfully cheap yen.

Fell in love with this CECIL McBEE bracelet the second I saw it, since it was so cheap I hope it won't break right away ><

I don't know when was the last time I bought a more "classy"
eau de toilette (like 5 years? xD), this one is Koda Kumi's LOVE NOTE, and it smells wonderful and the fragrance actually stays on for +3hours.

Got this ring as an early christmas present from my bf, owls! <3<3

Boots from INGNIS, I know my feet will hurt like hell for the first week or so, as is the case with all hard shaped boots… But I really like how they fit great with all my outfits!

Saw this in the same shop as the owl-ring, and decided to come back there a few days later to buy it haha.

Got these ones from a ridiculously cheap sale, finally I own a pair of nice black pumps! (even though they look blue in the photo…)

A dress for like 70kr from Forever 21, can't wait for summer when I'll get to wear it!

And Toy Story is on TV tonight, boy will I watch it! I haven't seen it for probably 10 years or so but I love it so much. Wonder if I can choose the english language option for this one, if not it will be awesome japanese practice.

So until next time~

Accessory time!

It's friday! And so another week of school has come to an end, gonna celebrate that by making Jack and Coke drinks once my bf gets home, if he manage to get home before 10pm today… Seriously the japanese working days REALLY are too long, no wonder people work them selves to death..

Today I went on a hunt for cheap accessories, I don't buy stuff like earrings or bracelets very often so sometimes it's fun to go on a hunt. Went to Shibuya 109 'cause you can actually find nice priced accessories there. So this is what I ended up with~

The necklace and bracelet is CECIL McBEE and the earrings are just some random brand. Now since the yen is so cheap it's like shopping at H&M haha. I really love the necklace and it seems the blue one was the last on in the shop so I was lucky!

Then I came across this coat, and I just totally fell in love, it's not often it happens but this time I just couldn't stop myself from buying it even though I don't really need another jacket, or maybe I do since I seem to have some sort of allergy to my autumn one :/ The mirror is really dusty, sorry ><

The only thing that is a little bit irritating is that there is nothing holding the belt in place, so when you put it on you have to manage to keep the coat closed (there's no buttons either) while you put on and tie the belt, it will take some practice^^; The brand is DaTuRa, it's my first time buying anything from them since their clothes are a bit over my budget. This time the coat was on time sale though so this was probably a one time purchase haha.

And on sunday it's first Advent, which means I'm gonna christmas decorate at home! Finally ^___^
I know my bf doesn't really care for christmas stuff since it's not a big deal in japanese families but at least I'm enjoying it to the fullest. And we're gonna buy a chocolate calendar haha.

Until next time, take care!

A dolled up blog!

New design on the blog~ Yes, I finally managed to make it look more appealing, and no I have not made the design, I found the blog of a very talented person who used to make these, sadly she has quit now  http://itkupilli-cutencool.blogspot.jp

But anyhow, I've been thinking for a long time about what direction this blog should take. There's really not that much going on around me and several times I've been thinking if I should start write more about fashion and styling instead, kind of like an inspirational blog. And yes, I've decided to go with the latter. Of course I'll write about other stuff as well but I feel I need to have a theme for this blog if I'm gonna be motivated to write in it. I would like to be able to update it every one or two weeks, but we'll see.

Right now I'm sitting around waiting for an important letter to be delivered since I of course missed the delivery yesterday -__- I hate having to wait for these things since I can't go anywhere. But once I get that letter I can finally send in all papers to the technical college! Like, FINALLY, all this paperwork have been stressing me out so much, and I still can't relax since I don't know if I can get study support for this school, which means if I can't get that I won't have the proper aid to enter this school, and it's totally up to a special study council in my country to approve this school, scary…

Also I went to Sea Paradise in Hakkejima this past saturday, it was so much fun! I went there with my bf and a friend of ours so the company was great, it was the first time in at least 4 years that I rode a roller coaster, and it was the biggest one I had tried yet, think I felt like I was gonna die at least 3 times during that ride haha. I don't really like roller coasters so I don't know why I always end up riding them… Anyhow I'm gonna post pics later!

I don't know why against my better knowing I always end up buying this cheap crappy make up, just because it's CHEAP. So Last night I ordered this mascara from Rakuten, Lancome Doll Eyes.

I've heard good things about it so I hope I will like it! Also gonna get myself a new eye liner since my current one stays on for about 30min...

And yay finally the letter arrived ^___^ Time to get down to business with paper work!

Take care!

Me and fashion, the little doll who once again became a doll

I never really talk about fashion with my friends, mostly because, well, pretty much non of my closer friends have any interest in it. Sometimes it gets a bit lonely I must admit, when you can't really share one of your biggest passions. It's not like I haven't tried find people with an interest, is more like those people I HAVE found I pretty much don't have anything else in common with. I mostly always stand out as the odd one in many of my group of friends, my personality do not match my outside, at all. And neither is there any reason why it should, why couldn't a girl wearing cute clothes be a big fan of metal and loves going crazy at those concerts? But we do judge after the outside at first sight after all and I guess that's why at first I always end up in groups that I find myself not really being comfortable in, because people see my appearance and befriends me based on what I look like. Actually it's hard to explain so I guess I should leave it at that haha.

Well I have changed styles like a roller coaster ever since my child hood, like I guess most people have. When I was 3 or 4 years old I had really long curly golden hair (actually I had that until I turned 8) and my mom just loved it so she always dressed me up as a little doll, and I always felt like I was uncomfortable. So when I started school and was old enough to decide for myself what kind of clothes I liked I started to dress like a boy, actually in many cases buying clothes from the boys section in the cloth shops. It wasn't only because I thought they looked cooler but because they could withstand more rough playing. I was always playing with boys as a child, and they were not inside playing with dolls.
When I started the swedish equivalent of junior high I did drop some of the boyishness and started to dress kind of feminine, however at my last year I really started to like listening to rock and metal, and so I once again started do drop the more feminine style in favor of trashed jeans, black shirts, studs and long wild hair. And that was the style I kept all through high school. But during my high school years I had started listening a lot to japanese music, and then mostly the bands who dress visual, visual kei. And so a while after I had graduated high school my new passion was to dress like visual, feminine looking asian men. Nooo, it doesn't sound confusing at all, does it? So I had short multicolored hair, LOTS of piercings and very visual clothing. And it was during this period that I found most of the people who I today love as if they were my family, even though most of us have dropped the visual style now haha.
However preferences changes and as I got older I started to feel uncomfortable in the visual style, I just felt like I couldn't really feel like a woman while dressing like that, or rather it didn't feel like me anymore. So then started my transition into looking like a very feminine girl, with a lot of drop backs to the boyish looks thanks to me feeling insecure about my new style. So in the end the doll once again became a doll.

And not really that anyone care but since this was a post about fashion I though I should post my winter closet, that I must say I'm super duper happy with <3

Also got myself two pair of packages of fake nails, since it's my bf's sisters wedding tomorrow I though I'd try to at least get my horrible nails to look decent -__- Haven't decided which ones to wear yet!

Also found a really cheap bracelet at Shibya 109, so cute!!

Well that was all for this time, have a feeling I might write more about fashion from now on, or maybe not, time will tell!

Autumn greetings

Yeah, autumn is finally coming, even though you couldn't have guessed unless it was for the leaves changing their color. Autumn in Tokyo is far cooler than summer, but that doesn't mean it gets cold like it does in Sweden, it's still at least 25 degrees most days, and humid...

So what have been going down since last time, well I guessed you could say a lot.
I moved from my beloved Ikebukuro to Kita-ayase, that pretty much is in the middle of nowhere, but the  apartment is great non the less, I could never afford a place like this in central Tokyo. Also things have finally cleared up for my bf so he will move in with me next week, can't wait, it's gonna be like living with your best friend! And yes I already know we're gonna fight over stuff like cleaning since I slightly believe in organized chaos and he is a complete neat freak lol. Luckily we have both pretty much accepted each others flaws by now.

I've also finished the intermediate level in my language school and will start the advanced level next week, both excited and a bit worried. But at least class MUST be more fun now than it has been the last 6 months, no more Minna no nihongo books. They were OK for beginners level and the start of intermediate but after that, NO.
And on the 25th we're gonna go to Hakone with school, really looking forward to it since it will be my first time going there!

Also I applied to a technical college today where I hope I'll be able to study high class hotel service. I'm faaar from sure I can get into that school, you need to pass an interview and a language test, but I would really regret it if I didn't at least try.

And soon it's my birthday, so I'm gonna throw a home party for once. I will also be joined by 3 of my best friends from Sweden who're coming to visit me for 2 weeks, so excited! We're gonna have so much fun, izakaya, karaoke, random craziness in Tokyo to put it simple.

I don't know why but lately I've felt more culture clashes between Sweden and Japan than normally, maybe a sign that I'm being dragged into japanese society on a deeper level than what I've experienced so far, it's a BIG difference just living here having fun and REALLY living here, hard to explain but I guess it's just about getting deeper into society.

Well this turned out to be far longer than I had intended, but here take some pics from my camping in the mountains last month, over and out~
